What is your time machine? Create a small assemblage sculpture reflecting your past, present, and future. Starting with a tour of Zoran Mojsilov: Time Machine, participants will discover how symbols translate across cultures and time.
Led by art educator Ilene Mojsilov, this Adult + Child workshop is perfect for children ages 8+ and their adult(s).
Born and raised in Minnesota, Ilene Mojsilov completed a BFA and MFA in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Minnesota. Her practice includes drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture, and gaining knowledge of global cultures is her passion. In particular, Mojsilov has lived and studied traditional arts in Japan, esthetics in France, and folk arts in the Balkans.
Mojsilov has been a teaching artist and museum educator for many years. This work has expanded her personal creativity and built relationships with art newcomers and enthusiasts. Her experience include working in public schools through the Minnesota State Arts
Board, and she was the Hands-on-Learning Facilitator at the Walker Art Center for 17 years, where she designed and taught art activities that complemented themes found in the permanent collection and traveling exhibitions. These workshops were specifically tailored to meet the needs of the general public and honor people with special needs.
Currently, Mojsilov freelances as an art educator at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Institute of Art, and Can Can Wonderland.
